In this post, I will share how you can find the right webinar topic for Affiliate Marketing.
Have you ever wondered, “What shall I share in my webinar that will truly provide value to my audience and skyrocket my affiliate sales?” while staring at your blank PPT?
It’s a struggle that many first-time webinar hosts selling their affiliate products face and I know how you feel.
Even I have struggled to come up with a valuable topic for my webinar.
It is frustrating when you spend a lot of time brainstorming topic ideas and still do not find one that seems valuable and impactful.
It is not only disappointing but also frustrating.
So to help you, I am going to share 3 super powerful steps to help you come up with a compelling yet valuable webinar topic.
Why Do You Need A Webinar Topic?

A webinar topic is the focal point around which you structure your webinar content.
The webinar topic is not just the title, it is the essence of what you will be sharing with your webinar attendees.
Without a valuable and crystal-clear topic that attracts and holds your audience right off the bat, even the most brilliant webinar falls flat on the face.
But… Why am I saying this?
Well, think about it. We live in an era of information overload where the attention span is barely 6-9 seconds.
So even the tiniest of mistakes in conveying what value your webinar will provide will send your visitors away – and they will never come back!
Therefore, whether you’re hosting a webinar for the first time or you are a seasoned expert used to virtual rooms, the harsh truth remains – failing to obsess over your topic is not an option.
So now I will share the 3 most powerful steps to help you decide on your webinar topic.
Step 1: What’re You Good At?

I will start by focusing on you!
Imagine this:
You pour your energy into a webinar topic that does not resonate with your strengths, skills, and expertise and also lacks growth potential.
It is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It is frustrating, uncomfortable, and not quite right.
And, if I may add, it’s super frustrating to the point that you pull your hair.
So let me ask you this:
What makes you stand out from others?
Are you a data alchemist who transforms boring spreadsheets into interactive graphs?
Or maybe you are a persuasive writer who weaves stories that captivate your readers.
So whenever you are out of webinar topics, take a step back and introspect. Your strengths, passions, skills, expertise, and experiences are the key ingredients for an impactful webinar.
Secondly, you must recall your experience.
If you have worked with clients, you can add that experience to your webinars. For example, I have worked with a handful of corporate clients and helped them set up Google Analytics on their website and Firebase Analytics on their app.
So when I conduct webinars, I can share, let’s say, the 6 common problems that the clients face and how my attendees can prevent them.
According to my webinar selling experience, this real-world experience is gold!
Now, although this should not be your primary motive, you should also think about how you can monetise your skills or talent through webinars.
I will share the principles I learnt from “Ikigai” to explain this.
Ikigai has 4 principles:
(1) What do you love?
(2) What are you good at?
(3) What does the world need?
(4) What can you be paid for?

You can learn more about finding your “Ikigai” here.
I will conclude this step by saying this:
Choosing a webinar topic isn’t just about picking any random topic, it’s about sharing information that aligns your skills and passions for maximum impact.

Step 2: Research

Now, for research, you can do 3 things:
(1) Use Google Trends
I feel Google Trends is your secret weapon. It will help you discover what topics and keywords are trending in your niche.
Let’s say, you are a fitness enthusiast and want to host a webinar on fitness.
You go on Google Trends and see that there is an increase in searches for “home workouts.”
(2) Keyword Research
Once you have the list of trending searches, you can dive into keyword research.
Keyword research will help you understand what people search for.
For instance, continuing the fitness example, you perform keyword research and discover that your target audience is interested in “quick home workouts”, or “quick and effective home exercise.”
(3) Ask Your Audience
In addition to Google Trends’ research and keyword research, you can directly ask your audience about their:
- Pain points
- Challenges
- Desires
- Goals
Asking your audience directly will help you uncover what they are facing in real time.
So, let’s say, you conduct a survey, you ask them what their top challenge is, and the survey reveals that most of them do not have time to exercise.
So, insights from Google Trends, keyword research, and surveys helped you discover what your audience is looking for:
“Home workouts without spending much time.”
So your webinar topic, in this case, will be:
“The Top 5 10-Minute Home Workouts for Busy Professionals.”
Once you finalise your webinar topic, you must add success stories or stories of transformation witnessed from home-based workouts.
Why?
Because people’s success stories make your attendees believe that if it’s working for other people, it will work for them.
Also, you might have heard:
“Facts tell, stories sell.”
So add 2-3 case studies in your webinar, okay?

Step 3: Market Demand

I will now address the elephant in the “virtual room.”
Does your audience truly need what you are thinking of offering?
To know what your audience wants, explore the market demand.
When you discover the market demand, you should also try to find if what your audience needs is ephemeral or evergreen.
Most of the time, what your audience needs is only seasonal and does not last longer.
For example, I bet you know about how Elon Musk skyrocketed the price of Dogecoin by tweeting about it.
It was trending in April-May 2021 but cooled off really quickly.

So your goal is to find that sweet spot where your expertise aligns seamlessly with the needs of your audience and stays relevant.
Coming back to the fitness example.
Let’s say you’ve identified an increase in demand for “home workouts.”
Now, suppose, in the webinar you talk about how your attendees can stay fit without spending hours at the gym.
The topic aligns with your passion and strength and “home workouts” is a topic that will always have a demand. So you’ve hit the sweet spot between what’s trending and what your audience needs.

Conclusion
So those were the 3 steps to come up with a powerful webinar topic.
Let’s revise them:
- What are you good at?
- Research
- Markey Demand
Remember, it’s not only about sharing information with your attendees, it is about creating an engaging experience that leaves a lasting impact.
Once you have clarity on what you want to cover, your audience will wait for the gem that only you can deliver.
Now, the only thing left is to open your laptop/desktop, create a powerful webinar, and shine like you were born to!
