And, if you make sales (through your unique affiliate link), you will make a commission.
Let me give you an example of how Affiliate Marketing works so you will understand the business model.
Suppose, you are an affiliate and promote a laptop. The cost of the laptop is, let’s say, ₹1,00,000. (Yes! Yes! I Indirectly mean MacBook.)
The commission rate – decided and specified by the seller/vendor – for each sale is, suppose, 5%.
Now, you grab your unique affiliate link and promote it to your audience.
Let’s say, 3 people buy the product – the laptop – through your unique affiliate link.
Now, let’s do some calculations:
The cost of the product is ₹1,00,000.
The commission rate is 5%.
So, for each sale, you will make a commission of:
5% of ₹1,00,000
= ₹5,000
Since you made 3 sales, you made a total commission of:3 x ₹5,000= ₹15,000

Before taking up Affiliate Marketing full-time, your first challenge is to choose the right niche, a blend of decent-paying and the one you love.
Instead of signing up as an affiliate of products in several niches, select the one you are passionate about and the one that will help you earn a decent commission – some tens of dollars if not thousands.
According to me, it is more profitable to earn well from one product than to earn a few couple of dollars from several programs.
Before we go through the list of the most profitable niches, I would like to answer the question: What Is A Niche?
According to the Collins Dictionary, “A niche in the market is a specific area of marketing which has its particular requirements, customers, and products.”
Too formal? Well, here is my definition of a niche.
According to me, a niche is a small segment of a large market.
For example:
- If fitness is a large market, then “yoga for weight loss” is a niche
- If fashion is a large market, then “women’s jackets” is a niche
I give the ‘cake’ analogy while explaining a niche to my students.
If a cake represents a large market, then a slice of that cake represents a niche, okay?
And believe me, there is a market for everything!
Now that we know what a niche is, let’s look at the steps of how you can choose your niche.
How Can You Choose Your Niche?


If you have this question, you are not alone. “How can I choose my niche?” is the most commonly asked question by every novice Affiliate Marketer.
In response to your question, I want to ask you a few questions:
- What are you passionate about?
- What is that one thing which drives you?
- What is something that you can do without getting tired?
Whatever you answer to the above questions is your niche.
I request you to please choose a niche based on your passion. Many beginners make the mistake of choosing the most profitable product but lose hope when they don’t see sales.
If you do not choose a niche based on your passion, you will lose interest and may even quit.
Choosing the wrong niche is one of the many reasons why Affiliate Marketers fail.
And, it is not mandatory to choose your niche today.
You can introspect, take your time and then finalise your niche.

Now, let’s move to the third most profitable niche, “Relationships.”
Nowadays, many relationships are failing. Couples are breaking up, married couples are finding it difficult to stay in the marriage, parents and children do not have a loving relationship, boss and employee relationship is hardly pleasant, and so on.
The world is facing a relationship crisis. Many friendships end because of a silly misunderstanding.
Hence, the world needs people who can help them improve the quality of their relationships.
So, if you can help people to have a better relationship, you can choose the Relationship niche.
Again, you can go deeper and choose one specific area as your niche and sub-niche.
For example:
- If “Relationship” is a large market,
